Is it me or is it getting cold in here?

Summer is OFFICIALLY OVER. Yes, it's goodbye sunshine, hello gloom.

Try as I might to delude myself from this, I can't.

The sky starts to grey by 3ish, clothes take FOREVER to dry, & my 3-in-1 Milo swirls even more often in my Andrew Brownsword mug (depleting reserves! But B to the rescue! Hurrah!).

I am bombarded from all angles by headlines shouting - Great Activities for Autumn/Winter, Bring Your Galoshes Out!, Fight the Flu Bug this Winter! Keep Warm with these Hearty Recipes, Autumn Books Must-Reads etc. Even fashionistas have started giving tips on Autumn/Winter 'Must Haves'. Apparently, if I want to look stylo-milo this season, I should don myself in 'parkas' (or anoraks as we term them in Asia), tartans or capacious jackets. Pfffht.

And you think Singaporeans (or should I say STB?) are being our kiasu selves when Christmas decorations are up by end Oct, beginning Nov? Here, the Christmas goodies are out on the shelves by Sept! Talk about lengthening the Christmas season! Hmmm, not a bad thing for a kiasu shopper like me though. I've started to KIV many, many things I see at the shops. Hohoho! :)

I'm certainly not looking forward to the days to come. Grey skies and cold weather make it hard (not to mention depressing) for me to bring Danielle out without freezing my arse off first! I'll just have to bite the bullet and keep up the frequency of our outings, else drive each other completely nuts at home.

The good thing is magazines here do provide mums like me with cool (excuse the pun) tips/ideas on how we can keep kids busy in this gloomy, wet weather. So, armed with the much-needed info, I prepare myself to battle the cold here!

In the meantime, excuse me while I slip into my orh biang thermal undies...

Woo... darn grey days are here eh?

You guys were blessed to have headed there in Summer first.

I only got to go to UK during WINTER... good grief. I not only had 2 slipped discs that were barely recovering, I also had to get used to the bitter cold! And my first host family's bed was so soft, when I lay down, I sank straight into the middle, had probs getting up and slept on the floor on a spare comforter for a fortnight before I dared to move.

One blessing is that at least in London, there aint no gale force winds keke. It is warmer there than in Brighton and I suspect it will rain much lesser.

Anywayz, keep the lovely bright lights shining to chase the blues away and maybe decorate the house with paper plate flowers that you and the little sweetheart can make ^.^ Oh ya... maybe will send you some Praise song for kids music so U can blast it whilst playing with Danielle. Chirpy music that.

Dun worry lots of material online too on what to do during rainy and wintery days. Will send U links when I come across any.

Keep warm (esp. feet, throat and head)and beware of the flu bug. It usually pops up in Winter and unlike flu in Singapore where we go to doc and get our meds from the clinic, U will have to see doc and go pharmacists with the prescription. Often, I end up going to pharmacist to get self medicating stuff for flu. As a precaution stock up some common flu prescriptive medicine and pray for Christ's blood to cover the kid and the hubby every morning and night & psalm 91!

A suggestion for the Heater coz electricity there is darn pricey: what my host mum used to do was make sure everyone goes to bed earlier in winter ( I was the rebel haha) at around 8.30pm and the heater goes off by 9.15pm. By then all nice and toasty and asleep le... snuggled under the comforter. Then auto on again in the morning an hour before everyone else awakes. Save energy that way. I used to stay up late so I'd go to bed sometimes tucked under both my winter jacket and my comforter haha.

And for a nice treat: Get the lovely Redoxon bath gel (not shower gel)from Boots that is medicated to sooth back aches. Those are lovely for winter. =)

If U can get some thing to put on toilet seat haha... those fluffy cushy things. It gets freezing down at the bogs in winter haha.

Glad U're getting more Milo from B. ^.^ When is she going to visit U? ^.^ Maybe can pass U a little something Kae and I will make for your Christmas Deco... as usually small and light hehe.

Paiseh I am so lor sor... haha. We're in the office rushing out work as usual =p Helping Ian do up some stuff for the Crocs in house video.

Hehe we got free crocs from them!! ^.^
So now we can wear our Crocs when we are out with Kae. =D

Will write more later... sorry for hogging the comment page hehe. Blow kisses from Ian, Kaelen and I!

Waaah zaaan JH, so touched you even read my blog in India lor! So how? What else have you learnt from e Land of Bollywood?

Take care brudder! We miss you here in London, both Dennis and I.

Dearest Qiubio,

Too much information in the last line of your latest blog update...heehee.

The benefit about winter is that you get to snuggle up more with Dennis, and when you wear those jackets, no one can tell that you have been wearing the same outfit (inside) and underwear for the last week or even month. So stink up a storm without anyone knowing it. Maybe there won't be cuddling from Dennis then...so ignore the first line in this para.

Enjoy the popsicles soon...Merry Christmas two plus months early. I'm too heavy for Clara's suitcase (all those mooncakes!) Don't want her luggage to be overweight, thus no chance of me doing a stowaway.

Love,
McChi

Haha the cool things is in winter, you dun perspire very much at all so u wun stink hehe and ur clothes wun stink waha...

I never wore thermals... so uncomfy nad scratchy...At least the ones I was given (hand-me-downs). Dunno how anyone can stand wearing those ^^" (which is why I bought really comfy ones for Ian the last time so he wun have the same phobia I have of thermals when he was in China).

I wore one tee, one fleece and one nice windproof jacket OR one tee and my nice knee length padded winter jacket that zips up to half my face with a hood. =D

And I never wore gloves no matter how cold. Haha I am totally butterfingers ger in those.

And yes mooncakes... feel so stuffed still leh Viv! =D
